Education

Across the world, there are 57 million primary-aged children out of school - and half of them come from sub-Saharan Africa. Worldwide, 14% of the over-15 population are illiterate. Frontier Philanthropists use their money, influence skills and ingenuity in many ways to ensure that children stay in school and get a high quality education. For example, the Aydin Dogan Foundation works particularly to encourage fathers to send their daughters to send girls to school. The SIFCA Foundation incites attendance and promotes learning by helping school canteens provided the nourishment that students need to concentrate throughout the day. In Brazil, the Ayrton Senna Institute combats illiteracy and repeated grades by training teachers to implement evidence-based methods. In India, the EdelGive Foundation draws upon the skill-set of financial services firm Edelweiss to ensure that education NGOs have the capacity to tackle educational challenges at scale.
